The Snowflake Startup Challenge is a premier competition for early-stage startups—but we’re not resting on our laurels. This year, we’re working with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) to take the Snowflake Startup Challenge to the next level.
The NYSE is home to many former startups whose innovative ideas were supported as they grew into market disruptors, changing their industries and the global economy. Now the world’s largest stock exchange is working with Snowflake to give the finalists of the 2023 Startup Challenge the opportunity of a lifetime.
Let’s dive into what you can expect from this year’s Startup Challenge.
Prize pool gets richer: Ring the NYSE Bell, receive mentorship, more
Like last year, you’ll be competing for:
- Financial investment from Snowflake. The top 3 finalists win a chance to share up to $1 million in potential investments by Snowflake.
- Global marketing exposure through features in Snowflake’s marketing channels.
- The opportunity to pitch Snowflake executives, venture titans, and industry leaders at the Startup Challenge Finale.
Together with the NYSE, we’re excited to raise the stakes of this year’s Startup Challenge. The NYSE will provide the top three finalists with the following:
- Executive mentorship from NYSE-listed companies via one-on-one advisory sessions
- Global visibility opportunities
- A chance to ring the Bell at the NYSE in the fall of 2023
Judging panel update: Here’s who you’ll be pitching
This year’s Startup Challenge Finale will take place in person at the 2023 Snowflake Summit in Las Vegas, Nevada. The top three finalists will pitch their apps and companies to a panel of esteemed judges and a live audience for a chance to win the prizes above.
We’re excited to announce that Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group, will join the 2023 judging panel alongside three returning judges: Benoit Dageville, co-founder of Snowflake; Denise Persson, CMO of Snowflake; and Carl Eschenbach, partner with Sequoia Capital.
Lynn Martin, President of NYSE Group
Martin is the 68th President of the New York Stock Exchange and the second woman to lead the exchange in its 230-year history. She also serves as Chair of Fixed Income and Data Services at Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the NYSE’s parent company. Martin began her career as a computer programmer at IBM and has served in a number of leadership roles at ICE, including President of Fixed Income and Data Services and COO of ICE Clear U.S.
“At the NYSE, we celebrate innovation every day. We connect entrepreneurs to opportunity so they can build businesses that transform industry,” says Martin. “We’re incredibly excited to be working with Snowflake on the Snowflake Startup Challenge. I look forward to getting to know the finalists and welcoming them to our podium.”
